I chose to do some Christmas Trees. I was able to use up some of the green scraps of fabric I had left over from other projects. Win…Win!
This was so much fun and an easy project for anyone to make.
Steps One, Two, Three:
Grab your supplies. I always rip my fabric to find the straight of grain and end up with lots of thin strips (about 3/8″ – 1/2″ wide) of fabric left over. This is a perfect project to use some of those up!
When you rip fabric the small piece tends to curl, so grab your iron and press them flat.
I chose some brown strips to for the the trunck of the tree.
Steps Four, Five, Six:
Create a paper pattern by drawing a triangle: 3 1/2″ wide at the bottom, 3 1/2″ tall, Then added a tree truck in the center 1/2″ wide by 5/8″ tall. Cut strips slightly bigger then the pattern.
Working on a non stick craft sheet, arrange strips on top of “Stick”.
Fold craft sheet over and press until strips are adhered to “Stick”.
Steps Seven, Eight, Nine:
Using the pattern trim stripped piece.
Cut a tree out of batting using the pattern as a guide.
Cut a small piece of ribbon and glue on the tip of the batting for a hanger. Press the stripped tree on the top of the batting.
It;s ready to hang on the Christmas Tree!
Here are a couple other versions or ways to use these Quick & Easy No Sew Christmas Ornaments.
Steps One, Two, Three:
Color some Glasslets to use on the tree to add a bit of sparkle. Check out how to color them in this post.
Place a thin line of glue on tree as desiredl
With a piece of copy paper under the tree, sprinkle the Glasslets over the glue. Let Dry. Put the excess Glasslets on the copy paper back into the container.
Or use as a package tag then the tag can be cut off and it can used as an ornament.
Simply cut a tag from cardstock, attach to the back of the tree and place on a package.
