Ever since I can remember I have always loved sewing and creating things. Teaching kids to sew and be creative gives me so much joy! Each of my 5 kids learned to sew and now I am slowly but surley teaching my grandkids to sew.

Tenley wanted to create a Monogramed Pillow and what a perfect project to start with!
This was so much fun and an easy project for a beginner.
Steps One, Two, Three:
Pick out a fabric for the pillow and one for the monogram.
Cut the monogram fabric and Stick (double sided iron-on adhesive)12″ x 12″.
Using a non-stick craft sheet, iron the fabric on top of the stick.
Steps Four, Five, Six:
Design the letter for your monogram in cricut design space. Place fabric onto a cricut mat.
Place the mat into the cricut machine and cut.
Pull excess fabric away from the monogram letter.
Steps Seven, Eight, Nine:
gently pull monogram letter off the mat. Set aside.
Cut two pieces of fabric for the pillow front and back, 13″ x 13″.
Use a ruler to center the monogram on the pillow front.
Steps Ten, Eleven, Twelve:
Place a non-stick craft sheet on top of the monogram, iron in place.
Check the monogram to be sure it is not lifting anywhere. If it is, repeat step tep to secure the monogram.
Place the front and back of the pillow right sides together, align the edges.
Steps Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen:
Pin around the outer edges.
Sew around the outside edge of the pillow with a 1/2″ seam allowance, leaving a 3″ opening.
Turn the pillow right side out.
Steps Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen:
Iron Pillow.
Stuff the pillow with Polyfil.
Pin the opening and stitch with a blind stitch to close.
