I love giving gift cards for the holidays but they can’t be inside a plain old envelope. So, when I saw the Happy Holidays toner papers by Ann Butler Designs for Emerald Creek, I knew I had the perfect beginning for my Paper Purse Gift Card Holder. Using Deco Foils with the toner papers added just the right amount of glittery glamour! I hope you give it a try. Have fun! Lisa~

Step One:

Die cut the red cardstock with the scalloped die, the green cardstock with the plain die, and two pieces of the green cardstock with the inside die. See photo. Next, adhere the green cardstock layer on top of the red cardstock and fold along the score lines.

Step Two:

Place the plain die onto a piece of white cardstock. Use a pencil to trace the inside of the die, and then use scissors to cut the pieces out. These will be used as patterns for the layers of toner papers.

Step Three:

To add foil to the toner papers, cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the toner papers. Lay the foils on top of the toner papers with the shiny side up and place them into a piece of parchment paper as shown.

Step Four:

Place the parchment paper into a hot laminator and run it through. Once it comes out of the laminator open the parchment paper and peel the foil off of the toner paper. Foil the toner papers as follows~ Candy Cane and Striped papers with red foil, and Holly Leaf paper with green foil.

Step Five:

To create the dividers for the inside of the purse, fold the score lines on the green cardstock pieces. Adhere the two pieces together with double-sided tape as shown, and then adhere them to the inside of the purse. See the photo in step 6 for placement.

Note: The photo below was taken from above the divider.

Step Six:

Trace the rounded pattern piece twice on the Candy Cane paper. Next, trace the small rectangle on the Striped paper, and then trace the larger rectangle twice on the Holly Leaf paper. Cut them all out and adhere them to the red and green cardstock as shown. To finish, add silver thread for the handle. Make a bow from green glitter ribbon. Adhere the rhinestone trim, the bow with a heart, a peppermint and two candy cane embellishments to the front of the purse with a glue gun. Attach a small circle of Velcro for the closure.
