Even though the holiday season is two months away, it’s never to early to start your holiday craft projects. Whether you’re creating cards, gifts for your loved ones, or a new decoration for your home, it’s always a good idea to save yourself the stress and start early! Steps One, Two, Three:
Adhere the wood base to the back of patterned paper and cut off the excess. Cut a piece of jute string 9″ long and adhere it to the back with a glue gun. Cover the back with cardstock.
For the large flowers, cut twenty pieces a plaid fabric 1″ wide and 2 1/2″ long. Fray the ends of the strips or use pinking shears for a rustic look. Fold the fabric lengthwise, then fold it in half. Add a small amount of glue to the base of the strips to form the petals. Continue adhering the petals in a circle to create the flowers. Tie hemp cord to the buttons and adhere them to the centers. Use a glue gun to attach the wood skewers to the back of the flowers. Note: For the smaller flower, cut twenty three fabric strips 1/2″ wide and 2″ long.
Die cut the pocket twice from Red cardstock. Fold along the score lines and adhere the pieces together. Die cut the pocket layer from Green cardstock. Add a small doily and adhere it to the pocket.
Steps Four, Five, Six:
Add some straw filler and Green baby’s breath inside the pocket. Place the flowers in the pocket and add some hot glue to hold them in place.
Cut the ribbon 8 1/2″. Fold the ends under and adhere it to the base. Layer a piece of Red cardstock with the sentiment and attach it to the base with the tape runner.
To finish, use the glue gun to add the pocket and two floral picks to the base. Cut a strip of fabric 16″ with pinking shears. Make a bow and adhere it to the base.
