Hello dear friends! Martha Lucia here with my Hello Sailor card.

I live in Florida and this summer has been very hot. This heat inspired me to create a card with a fresh colors, using the sea water and wood for inspiration.

HELLO SAILOR CARD

Materials:

  • Cardstock: Marina Mist, Orange and Confetti White
  • Hardwood Background Stamp
  • Hello, Sailor Stamp Set
  • Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink
  • Candy Dots Brights
  • Makin’s Clay® White
  • Makin’s Clay® Sea Shells Push Mold
  • Distress Ink: Broken China, Gathered Twigs and Victorian Velvet

To create my card I used marina mist card stock and confetti white. I stamped a hardwood background using a Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink over the Confetti White layer.  I cut a little piece of Marina Mist and created the same background.

HELLO SAILOR CARDI pasted a thick twine over the Marina Mist piece to create a nautical look and decorated it with some sea shells that I made using Makin’s Clay® in White, Makin’s Clay® Sea Shells Push Mold and some Distress Inks. I punched a hole over the star to tie it using a crop-a-dile. The clay is flexible and very easy to manipulate.

HELLO SAILOR CARDTo finalize my card, I sponged a piece of card stock with the same colors of distress ink that I used to give color to the shells and then I stamped my sentiment over the paper and cut it with a punch. I decorated the left border with an orange piece of card stock to create a big contrast and coordinated this with the upper candy dots or adhesive backed brads.
