Quite simply I used freezer paper with my Cricut to create a stencil, you could how ever use Iron on Vinyl to create this pillow if you prefer. It is a perfect addition to welcome people this fall!
I just loved how this turned out! These white pillow covers were found at Ikea for under $4…I may have to go and buy them by the dozen:0)
Steps One, Two, Three:
Cut the tag from the inside of the pillow cover.
Be sure to take time to iron the pillow cover.
Grab the Free Download and size it for your desired size in cricut design space, or whatever program you use for electronic cutting machine.
Steps Five, Six, Seven:
Cut the download out with freezer paper.
Next, iron the Welcome and HME (for Home) onto the pillow cover, leaving room for the pumpkin and “to our”. Place a piece of cardboard inside the pillow cover.
Using a dauber and Crafter’s Ink in Night fill in the Welcome.
Steps Seven, Eight, Nine:
Continue filling in the HME from Home with the Night color ink. Remove the freezer paper and heat set the ink with an iron.
Iron the “to our” and the pumpkin onto the pillow cover. Fill in the “to our” with Night ink. Then, use Tangelo, Desert Sand, Limelight, and Evergreen to fill in the parts of the pumpkin. Remove the freezer paper and heat set.
If and ink leaked out, simply iron the leaves of the pumpkin over it and add some green leaves, heat setting when done.
Step Ten, Eleven, Twelve:
Fill the inside of the pillow cover with Poly-fil. To keep the pillow soft don’t fill tightly, add Poly-fil to the corners and continue filling so that it is light and fluffy.
Zip you pillow cover closed.
Fairfield World also has a great assorment of Pillow Forms and the 20″ ones would work perfectly for these pillow covers. The Blue Pillows displayed with the one I just created are also pillow covers from Ikea and I simply placed 20″ Pillow Froms from Fairfield World inside them, making them perfect for this daybed.
