Decoupage Candle Centerpiece

Transform an ordinary Dollar Store wood tray into a stunning decoupage floral candle centerpiece! Add decorative elements like lace, beads, or dried flowers to enhance the charm.

I love to create home decor items with a vintage touch. It reminds me of crafting with my mom many years ago before I became a professional designer and paper artist. I have all of her vintage lace and doilies now and I love using them whenever I can. This is a very simple project and I hope you give it a try. Crafty hugs, Lisa~

Step One:

To begin, adhere the wood beads to the bottom of the tray. Paint the tray with gold acrylic paint. Add a second layer if desired. Once the tray is dry, lightly sand it for a distressed look.

Step Two:

Cut the patterned paper in two pieces 6 1/4″W x 1 1/2″H and another two pieces 4 1/8’W X 1 1/2″H for the sides. Using a paintbrush add the Mod Podge on the tray first and then adhere the paper on top. Work in small sections to make it easier. Cover all four sides with another layer of Mod Podge and set aside to dry.

Step Three:

Attach the metal corners on the tray with a glue gun. To finish, add floral styrofoam and moss to the inside of the tray. Adhere some lace to the sides. Place a small doily inside add dried flowers and a string of beads. Adhere lace around the top of the candle holder and add a battery operated candle inside. Place the candle holder onto the tray and add some crystal gems all around.
