I have to admit that I created this notebook out of necessity. I had another notebook that I kept my passwords and other house information in for a few years and it was in bad shape. The pages were falling out and I had sticky notes everywhere! I knew I needed a new one but I wanted it to be pretty, so I pulled out my Deco Foil and rubber stamps and created this colorful Deco Foil notebook. Now I have all of my important passwords, etc in one place! Lisa~

Step One:

Trace the cover of the notebook on patterned paper and cut it out. Use a corner rounder on two of the ends if needed. Repeat two more times for a total of three patterned papers. Adhere the patterned papers to the front and back of the notebook. Cut another piece of yellow patterned paper, 4″W x 9 3/4″H. Wrap it around the left side of the notebook and adhere it in place. Attach a piece of ribbon on the front and glue in place. Adhere the ends to the inside and adhere the last piece of patterned paper to the inside cover.

Step Two:

Stamp the flowers on white cardstock with black inkpad. Color the images with watercolor pencils and cut them out with matching dies.

Step Three:

Adhere the images onto pieces of black cardstock and cut them out again, leaving an 1/8″ border around them.

Step Four:

Lay the Deco Foil onto a black sheet of toner paper with the color side facing up. Place both pieces into a piece of parchment paper.

Step Five:

Place the parchment paper with the folded side into a hot laminator. Once it is out of the laminator, remove it from the parchment paper and pull the top sheet of the foil from the toner sheet. All of the foil will now be transferred to the toner sheet, leaving the piece that was pulled off clear of the foil and can now be discarded.

Step Six:

Die cut one large butterfly and two small ones from the foiled toner sheet.

Step Seven:

Using a computer with Microsoft Word, type out the words “House Notes” in a vertical position. Print it and cut it out. Cut a piece of blue cardstock approximately 1/8″ larger and adhere it to the wording. To finish, adhere the flowers to the left sideof the notebook and the wording to the right side. Apply a small amount of glue to the center of the butterflies and adhere them to the notebook. See finished photo for placement if needed. Note: To give you an idea for the size of the wording, it’s 3/4″W x 8 1/4″H. The blue cardstock is 1/8″ larger all around.
