This quick and easy gift bag is absolutely perfect for your holiday gift giving. All you need is some nice velvet, a stamp, and an iron. Velvet Stamping has been around since the 90’s but it never get old! You can catch my video for this project on our YouTube Channel Crafty hugs, Lisa~
Steps One, Two, Three:
Cut a piece of Rayon/Acetate Velvet 5 1/2″ x 12″ and lightly spray with water.
Place a stamp face up on the table and then lay the fabric face down onto the stamp. Use a dry, hot iron on the fabric and hold in place for approximately 5 to 7 seconds**. Repeat this step until the fabric is covered.
Fold the fabric over 1/4″ on all sides and glue in place. Next, use scissors to miter the corners.
**NOTE** Irons will differ in temperature. Always test the iron on a small scrap of Velvet before you start your project. My iron gets very hot so I only need to leave in place 5 to 7 seconds.
Steps Four, Five, Six:
Run a strip of glue on the long sides of the fabric and fold it together.
Cut the trim for the handle 8″ and adhere it to each side of the bag. Next, cut the white trim 10″ and adhere it along the top of the bag
To finish, cut one strip of rhinestones 3 1/2″ and a second one 2 1/2″. Attach the snowflakes to each end. Adhere them to the top of the bag. Adhere the glitter pom poms, the two holly buttons and the bow to the top of the bag as shown.
