This is Molly Alexander back with you to share a tutorial for a simple yet elegant wire wrapped bangle bracelet that will have you making one for each outfit you own!
This is one of my absolutely favorite projects to make because these bangles are so versatile, and you can use all types of beads and wire to suit your own unique style. In this tutorial, I will show you how to make the purple bangle in the picture below with a minimal number of supplies and tools, and even if you aren’t a wire worker, you will be able to create these rustic bangles with ease. Let’s get started, shall we?

Supplies/Tools:
- Lampwork beads: 23mm lentil (1), 17mm lentils (2), 12mm squares (2)
- 5mm x 8mm Impression Jasper Beads: (14)
- 12g half-hard copper wire: 11″
- 26g dark annealed wire: 35″
- Jewelry-making pliers: round-nosed, bail-making and wire cutters
- Optional: metal colorant/patina
Instructions:
- Start a coil on one end of your 12g copper wire and coil it approximately 3 times, keeping it tight
- Start adding your beads in this order: 3 jasper, 1 square lampwork, 2 jasper, 1 small lentil lampwork, 1 jasper, 1 large lentil lampwork, 1 jasper, 1 small lentil lampwork, 2 jasper, 1 small square lampwork, 3 jasper
- Bend the wire with the beads into the shape to fit your wrist and coil the remaining wire so it matches the first coil.
- Using the 26g dark annealed wire and starting at one end, begin wrapping it around the beads, moving from bead to bead with a couple of wraps between each bead. When you reach the other end, wrap the wire a few times in front of the coil and then begin wrapping the beads going the opposite direction. By the time you are finished, you will have wrapped a couple of times between all the beads two times, once in each direction.
- Trim any excess wire and secure the loose wire end tightly against the coil.
- Optional step: dip the whole bangle in the metal patina for a few minutes, take it out, rinse and dry it thoroughly.
It is as easy as that! You can mix and match your beads and wire with this project to create an infinite number of designs. I must warn you though, it’s addicting!
This is so beautiful, Molly, and you make it look so easy to make.
Thanks Roberta – you should try it – you’ll be an addict too!
