Using your stamps with wood products is a great way to create home decor items. By using decoupage with this project, you can use your stamps without having to stamp directly onto the wood. So, if you’re new to working with wood, this project takes the fear out of it. If you mess up your stamped images you can start all over without ruining your wood. It’s a win-win and I hope you give it a try! Lisa~

Step One:
Mix white acrylic paint with water to create a wash. Use a paintbrush to apply wash to wood plaque and wood dowel. Let dry.
Paint wood birdhouse with one coat lavender acrylic paint. Once the birdhouse is dry, apply a coat of Mod Podge.
Step Two:
Lightly sand the wood plaque and birdhouse with sandpaper giving it a Shabby Chic look. Wipe both pieces off with paper towels.
Step Three:
Stamp each birdhouse one time and the wood post four times onto copy paper, using a black permanent inkpad.
Step Four:
Color images with chalk pencils and spray with a sealer. Cut the images out with scissors. Create the “Birdhouses for Sale” sign on a computer and mat with lavender cardstock.
Step Five:
Lay images onto the plaque. Apply Mod Podge to the backs of each piece, working quickly to adhere to the wood. Once dry, cover the entire area with Mod Podge. To finish, use a glue gun to adhere the wood dowel to the back of the birdhouse and then adhere to the back of the plaque. Attach the ivy, flowers and birds to the top of the plaque. Add some twine to the back to hang.
NOTE: If you’re having problems adhering the items with a glue gun, use E6000 instead.
