Today I am sharing with you how to get a marbleized effect with alcohol inks!

Marbleized Effect with Alcohol Inks

It’s fun and easy to marbleize a smooth, non-porous surface with alcohol inks.

For my #craftyourstash project today, I grabbed a white, coated paperboard box and some citrus shades of alcohol inks to make a little marbling magic. This box has an acetate window and a magnetic hinged lid – it will be perfect for holding just about anything – from handmade greeting cards to office supplies to receipts and coupons.

Several years ago, I shot a homespun video tutorial (below) on how to combine 2-3 colors of alcohol inks to create a marble effect on a smooth, non-porous surface. While this little ol’ video is pretty low-tech, the technique still holds up very well today! It’s one of my all-time favorites. And it’s super easy to get great results – it’s just a repeat tapping motion with your applicator to manipulate the alcohol ink as it dries.

I embellished the box lid with layered circles punched from cardstock and some metal accents.  I lined the bottom inside with some pretty paper and done! Have fun, crafters!
