Hello dear friends!  This is Carmen and today I’m sharing with you my last tutorial with Bella Crafts Design Team and just in time for Spring!  I can’t believe it’s been a year since I was asked to be on this incredible design team and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.

Here are the materials I used….

  1.  I first sectioned off half of the card with the painter’s tape to protect the back side and also to keep the card in place on my desk.  Using the distress stains of broken china and brushed corduroy, I created a sky and earth look to the card.  I did use a wet brush to move some of the stain around.

2.   Nothing says Spring like birds and flowers!  The Hummingbirds stencil was perfect for this card.  To create the flower I used the round applicator with evergreen bough and mowed lawn, then seedless preserve.

3.  This stencil comes with two size Hummingbirds, luckily the card had enough room for me to use the larger bird.  Again I used the round applicator and this time I used vintage photo distress ink for the base of the bird and beak.  Then layers of evergreen bough and peacock feathers for the body.  You can really blend these inks well and give your image a dimensional look.

4.  I had in my stamps stash this set from Paper Wings Productions with the perfect sentiment, It’s a Spring Thing!  I used the vintage photo distress ink for the color.

Since all of these Tim Holtz products are water soluble, I sealed the card with a spray of DecoArt sealant as a final touch.

Remember, it doesn’t need to be a special occasion to create and send a card.  One of the best reasons to receive a card, is just because.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and it inspires you to create something today!

Blessings,
