Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here sharing a project with a double technique; faux watercolor and die cuts with metal sheets.  To show you these I created a card with a few elements. I love spring and butterflies and this is the perfect opportunity to create something new.  First let me show you my faux watercolor and metal card and then I will explain how you to can do it in just a few steps.Collage Butterfly Metal

Materials:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Take your acrylic block, clean it very well and ink one face completely with coastal cabana classic ink or with your favorite color.  Stamp the very vanilla paper directly with the acrylic block. If you want to have a clear tone or intensify the watercolor effect just spray it with water. In the sample the second layer was stamped directly with the acrylic block and without water.

To cut the design of the butterfly use your BigShot or any die cut machine.  After you cut your design you will note that some parts or details of the metal don’t look perfect. To correct these, you can use one of the blending stumps, or tortillons, that are included in the Basic Embossing Tool Kit.

To obtain a better effect over the metal you can work over a flat surface like a glass. Note the difference in the third photo of this sequence;the left side was polished with the embossing tool.

Now that your embellishment is finished you can create the base of your card using the basic gray cardstock and decorate it to your preference.Collage Butterfly Metal

In my card I cut a little banner of old olive cardstock that I pasted over the coastal cabana background, then I attached the center of the metal butterfly with some glue dots and passed around two loops of gray bakers twine. Finally I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by and come back soon for another quick idea!
