Who isn’t always looking for a better way to organize their craft room and supplies? Today, Madge Gillan of Scrapin’ Madge shares her tips for Craft Room Organization. Great ideas here!!
Hi Friends, I am super excited today, to share with you some fun crafty organization. Now I don’t know about you, but I am always on the lookout for something to organize all of my crafty goodness! I am, I guess what you would call a hoarder of sorts! Once I get “hooked” on a product I have to have the whole collection! That being said, I have 83 bottles of spritz sprays. Yes, they are from several different companies. I have Mr. Huey’s from Studio Calico, Lindy’s Stamp Gang, Smooches, Heidi Swapp, Dylusions by Ranger, Maya Road, Distress Stain by Ranger and Perfect Pearls by Ranger. So as you can imagine it is hard to see and store all of my bottles. I have come up with a way to see what each color looks like, so I don’t have to sit and lift each and every bottle wasting time looking for the right color. [Tweet “What a great #craft idea for organizing inks, dyes and spray! This is a must read”] Here are the supplies you will need to achieve this.
Take the watercolor paper and cut 3.5 x 3.75 rectangles, next I have taken each color and sprayed the watercolor paper making color swatches. (Allow them to dry completely before going on to next step.) Taking a sharpie I labeled the color swatches using the brand of the sprtiz example: Heidi Swapp HS 1, HS 2, and so on.
Next take small white stickers and numbered the lids of the spritz the same way as the color swatches.
I then placed them into plastic badge holders.
Now take your color swatches keeping them by brand and place onto a large ring. This way I can go to my ring of color swatches and match up the colors to the current project that I am working on. To store all of my spritz I use my Raskog cart from IKEA
I placed a small organizing tray inside to keep the bottles from moving around. However, I am starting to outgrow the top shelf of this cart so I think sometime soon I will be purchasing another cart (same kind) and using it for only my spritz inks.
