Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share a great technique with you, called Faux Tile, that highlights the shades of green in my card. This is an amazing technique that you can use to create backgrounds or different forms in your paper craft projects.
I want to show you step by step how you can create this card, but first I will list the materials:
- Cardstock
- Scoreboard or Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Diagonal Plate
- Classic Ink Pads in coordinating colors
- Post-it or mascarade paper
- Stamps to decorate
- Embellishments like bakers twine
- Dimensionals or any other adhesive.
Instructions:
1. Take a piece of cardstock and stamp your principal image over one of the borders. I selected the left side, but you can use any border.
2. Put your paper over the scoreboard or Simply Scored Scoring Tool using your diagonal plate and mark the scored lines in 0″, 2″ and 4″ on both sides; horizontal and vertical. Then turn your cardstock 90 degrees and repeat this process.
3. Now that you have all the lines marked, you can take a post-it paper or any masking paper to create masking lines like the ones I showed on the photos. Using a sponge dauber or a simple sponge, give this corner another color of ink.
4. Now your background is finished and you can decorate it with some embellishments like bakers twine and stamped images. In my model, I used different shades of green and I created a bow with bakers twine and stamped some butterflies with watermelon wonder color. I cut the butterflies with punches.
5. Finally, I pasted this decorated background over a card base and pasted the sentiment. And voila, my card of the shades of green is finished.
I hope you liked this simple and creative tutorial and that this inspired you to create your own backgrounds. Here you will see another idea that I used using the Faux Tile Technique but in this opportunity without the scored board, only creating the lines with masking paper.[Tweet “Amazing Faux tile technique with sponge and ink. #crafts #stamp”]
