Today’s post is all about a “Fabulously Fun Fintastic Gel Card”! What is a fintastic gel card you ask? Well, it’s a card that whoever you create it for is going to ask…how did they do that? And now that I have your attention, let me show you how to make one.

In our video this week, Lisa shared how to create an ocean themed card with products from our sponsor,  Pink and Main.  Her “Fabulously Fun Fintastic Gel Card” shows how to use some hair gel sealed in a plastic bag and some foam core board to create a look of the fishes actually swimming in the fish bowl.

Once you have all of your supplies together, you’re ready to go! You can find the complete list at the end of this post.

Step One:

Cut a piece of white cardstock 10″w x 5 1/2″h. Score at 4 7/8″ and 5 1/8″. Cut foam core board 4 3/4″w x 5 1/4″h. Next, cut a 4′ circle.

Step Two:

Using a plastic photo sleeve and the Fuse tool, create a circle leaving a small opening to add the gel. Once the gel has been added close the circle with the tool.

Step Three:

Stamp images onto white cardstock with black inkpad.

Step Four:

Color all of the images with chalk pencils and cut out.

Step Five:

Stamp fish bowl on front of the card base with black inkpad. Mask over the fish bowl with Masking Magic. Lay stencil over image and add different colors of ink.

Step Six:

Tape the gel packet to the back of the foam core board. Cut the center of the fish bowl out.

Step Seven:

Color the fish bowl and rocks with chalk pencils.

Step Eight:

Place stencil on the backside of the card and add different colors of inks.

Step Nine:

Adhere the stamped images to the inside of the card. Check the placement to make sure you can see them when the card front is closed.

Step Ten:

Adhere the foam core board to the inside of the card. Lay some fibers or ribbons in the fold of the card and then adhere the card closed. Decorate the front of the card as desired.
