Hello friends. Larissa here today with a tickled pink birthday card for you. Lately I have been water coloring everything. I have purchased a few different sets and to be honest I can’t tell you which is my favorite. I have also purchased several different kinds of watercolor paper. Again can’t tell you a favorite. I do know that I am loving water coloring different stamped images. This is one of my favorite techniques. No line water coloring.
What you are going to need:
- Stamp Set
- 4 X 5 1/2 watercolor paper (I used Strathmore 140 lb cold press)
- Peerless Watercolors (this is the set I used for this card but any watercolors will work)
- Powder Tool
- Versamark Ink Pad
- Versafine Onyx Black Ink
- Clear Embossing Powder
- Heat Tool
- Paint Brushes
- Embellishments: I used small heart punch and twine
What I did:
- I rubbed the powder tool all over the piece of watercolor paper.
- Stamp the image onto the watercolor paper using Versamark Ink.
- Sprinkle the embossing powder over the stamped image and then tap off the excess.
- Heat the image until the embossing powder turns shiny. Be sure to move your heat tool around so you don’t burn the paper.
- Watercolor the stamped image.
- Add your embellishments
- Add your sentiment using black ink. Or color of your choice.
- Finish off the inside of the card.
Super simple. I like the way the image comes out with no ink. A tip I will share is don’t over saturate your brush with water when coloring the smaller images. The watercolors will spread with the water. I did go around the image with a light turquoise color using a lot of water because it was a bigger space. I would suggest keeping a piece of scrap paper on the side to try the colors out. They will look different when you add water.
I hope you enjoyed my post today. Have a wonderful day friends.
