Spring is just around the corner and it’s time to give your home decor something fresh and lovely. I’ve had an obsession with burlap lately and I’m really incorporating it into my Spring Home Decor. Today I’m sharing with you a simple project that is no sew and you can do in less than an hour.
Materials:
- Americana Home Decor Chalky Finish Paint in New Life, Refreshing, Legacy and Rouge color
- Canvas Corp Table Runner
- 1 yard of lace trim of your choice
- American Decor Stencils in Jacobean Floral, Finch, Vintage Butterfly and Tropical Flower
Tools:
- Stenciling brushes
- Hot glue gun
- Craft sheet or paper to place under runner when stenciling
- I decided on a floral theme with a bird and butterfly on each end of the table runner. You can also stencil the entire runner if you like, the great thing about this project is how much you can customize it. When stenciling I did place my craft sheet underneath the table runner to catch any paint that may go through the material.
2. On each end I hot glued a strip of lace that I had in my stash.
3. Once the paint was dry I sprayed the area with some Americana Sealer. This will protect the image from smudging or fading when wiped.
I’m really loving how this came out. It has a soft Spring feel to it and I think it’s the perfect addition to my table and my thrift store finds. I always try to make my dining room table displays eclectic and fun. It’s an opportunity to showcase thrift store and flea market finds.
This table runner is large enough that I can add more art to it later if I wanted to.
I hope you enjoyed visiting with me today. Make sure you come back often for more creative ideas from our team.
Also, don’t miss the Spring issue of Bella Crafts Quarterly coming out March 1st. I have a project in this issue and you will definitely want to check it out!
Blessings,
Carmen, this is so pretty and your tutorial is great!!!
Thank you Lisa!
That’s so pretty! I love burlap and especially burlap and lace. I’d never have thought of stenciling it, that’s such a good idea!
Carmen, thanks for this tutorial. Now I know what to do with some burlap pieces I have.
