This project was fun to make because I got to use my Cricut Maker! But, do not despair my friends if you don’t have one. You can still create this project by checking out the multiple patterns you can find on Pinterest. It’s easy and fun! I hope you give it a try. Crafty hugs, Lisa~
Steps One, Two, Three:
This box pattern was deigned by Chesed Cottage Crafts (profile name) on Sizzix Design Studio. Cut the design out onto Black cardstock. I didn’t use the skeleton on the pattern. Cut that part out with a craft knife. Note: As I mentioned above, if you don’t have a Cricut Maker, you can find patterns on Pinterest for the coffin box.
Trace the solid pice of the coffin onto the pattered paper and the patterned acetate and cut them out. Fold the score lines on the front and side portions on the pattern.
Adhere the acetate to the front, inside of the box, and then adhere the patterned paper to the back portion.
Steps Four, Five, Six:
Adhere the side pieces to the front and back of the coffin box with glue gun.
These two pieces are also part of the pattern on Design Studio. Cut them out on Black cardstock.
Fold the score lines of the top and bottom pieces of the box and assemble. Place a battery-operated candle inside the bottom portion of the box and place the lid on top. Note: You can watch the video of this project on our YouTube channel here
To finish the coffin box, adhere a plastic skeleton inside with glue gun. Put the front on top and adhere a piece of 1/4″ ribbon along the front of the box at the bottom. Next, adhere a piece of 1/2″ ribbon around the outside of coffin box. Place some spider webbing on the bottom portion and adhere the coffin on top. Add some Halloween stickers and a couple of plastic spiders to complete the spooky look!
