Steps One, Two, Three:

Using a pair of old jeans, cut the denim slightly larger than the notebook. Place the notebook on top of the denim and trace around it.

Cut the denim leaving a 1/4″ to 1/2″ around the edges. Cut a small slit on the top and bottom and glue the edges on the front and back covers with a glue gun.

Next, cut the handkerchief 4 1/2″W x 10 1/4″H. Fold the edges over 1/4″ on all sides to create a hem and glue in place. Adhere the handkerchief to the left side of the notebook, and then wrap it around the back and glue in place. Adhere Yellow ribbon to the edge of the handkerchief.

Steps Four, Five, Six:

Cut two pieces of cardstock 7 1/4″W x 9 1/2″H, and then two pieces of the handkerchief 8 1/4W x 10 1/2″H. Lay the cardstock onto the handkerchief pieces. Fold the ends over and glue in place.

Adhere the handkerchief pieces to the front and back covers inside of the notebook.

Cut a pocket from the jeans. Adhere the rhinestone trim around the pocket with the glue gun.

Steps Seven, Eight:

Adhere the doily and butterfly to the pocket.

Stamp the sentiment with a Black inkpad on White cardstock and cut it out. Layer the sentiment to Yellow cardstock and cut it out again, leaving a 1/4″ border. To create the closure, cut a belt loop from the jeans and adhere one end to the back of the notebook. Apply the hook piece of Velcro to the other end, and then the loop piece to the notebook. Attach the sunflower button to the belt loop closure. To finish, adhere the sentiment, the pocket, and a piece of lace to the front of the notebook. Attach some Blue, Yellow, and Green pearls to the lace as shown.
