Shrink Plastic has been around for many years now, but if you’ve never tried it before or you haven’t played with it in a while, this tool from Sizzix is a game changer! There are so many things you can do with Shrink Plastic but this project is perfect if you are new to the product. I hope you give it a try. Crafty hugs, Lisa~

Steps One, Two, Three:

Cut out three pieces of Shrink Plastic using a frame die, 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″, and run the plastic through a die cutting machine. Punch holes in the top and bottom of two pieces of plastic, and then one hole on the top of the last piece. Apply ink to the plastic with daubers.
Stamp all three pieces the using a Black inkpad as shown. Hold a heat tool about 5″ over the plastic pieces to dry the ink a little bit before you shrink them. Attach jump rings through the holes BEFORE you shrink the pieces.
Place one piece at a time on the silicone mat and lay the mesh screen on top. Begin shrinking the plastic by running a heat tool over it until the plastic shrinks down to the desired size. Apply clear sealer and let dry.

Steps Four, Five, Six:

To finish this keyring, apply a coat of UV Resin over each piece and place under a UV Lamp for 60 seconds to cure. Attach the charms to the pieces as shown.
For the second keyring, decide how big you want the keyring to be, keeping in mind that the plastic shrinks about 40%. I cut my plastic piece 3 3/4″W x 3″H and the finished size is 2 1/8″W x 1 1/4″H. Use a computer to create the name and design. Place the Shrink Plastic into a printer to print out the design. Punch a hole at the top and add a jump ring BEFORE you shrink it.
Place the plastic on the silicone mat and shrink the plastic with a heat tool.

To finish this keyring, apply a coat of UV Resin over each piece and place under a UV Lamp for 60 seconds to cure. Attach the charms to the pieces as shown. The last photo shows the products I used to apply the resin coating.
