I really loved creating this project. When I first saw the amazing stencils that Ann Butler designed for StencilGirl, I knew exactly what I wanted to create with the heart stencil. My eldest grandchild is serving in the Air Force and I can’t think of a better way to thank her for her service! Crafty hugs~ Lisa
Supplies for Remember and Honor Paper Frame
Check out the full list of supplies at the end of this post.
Step One:
The finished frame is 8″ x 8″. Cut the red striped patterned paper and velum paper, 7 3/4″ x 7 3/4″. Cut a piece of white cardstock 8″ x 8″ to cover the back part of the frame.
Step Two:
To give the frame more stability adhere white cardstock to the back of the blue patterned paper with spray adhesive. Using the largest die in the frame die set, cut four pieces from the blue patterned paper. Next, die cut the soldier and the words from black cardstock. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble the frame or watch my video Here.
Step Three:
Cut a piece of white cardstock slightly bigger than heart stencil. Place the heart stencil on Stencil and Stamp Tool as shown in photo below. Use blending brushes to apply the red and blue ink to the stencil. Remove the cardstock and cut the heart shape out.
Step Four:
Use the blending brush to add the blue ink around the heart and the frame. Next, adhere the heart to the red striped patterned paper. Turn the frame over to the backside and adhere the vellum, the red striped patterned paper, and the white cardstock. Turn the frame over again and adhere the soldier piece to the front.
Step Five:
On a piece of white cardstock, stamp two banners with blue inkpad and cut them out. Layer them onto a piece of red cardstock and cut them out again. To finish the frame, adhere the words to the banners, and then attach them with foam tape. Cut a piece of ribbon 7″ and adhere it with the two wood stars to the bottom of the frame.
